DC and SSP exhort voters to exercise their right to franchise in large numbers for vibrant democracy

Nawanshahr, February 18, 2022: Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanwardeep Kaur on Friday called upon the people to must exercise their right to franchise on February 20 to increase voting percentage for making  democracy more vibrant.

Addressing the gathering before flagging off voter awareness rally from District administrative complex (DAC) under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Deputy Commissioner and SSP said that we all have attained right to vote after relentless struggle by great freedom fighters of the country.

They said that the hard earned right of vote must not be wasted and voters must exercise it judiciously to strengthen democracy at the grass root level adding that the district administration has taken this initiative to spread maximum awareness amongst the people especially among youths.

Sarangal and Kaur said that as India is a youthful nation with a sizeable chunk of its population above the age of 18 years and it is need of the hour to ensure every voter cast his vote sincerely on February 20.

They said that India can progress only if the youth come forward and participate in democratic process wholeheartedly.

Deputy Commissioner and SSP said that the participation of voters in the country is necessary to give new shape and ideas to strengthen democracy at the grass root level.

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner Deepankar Garg, Assistant SVEEP Nodal Officer Satnam Singh and others were present.
