Jalandhar: DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology Jalandhar was placed 66th in the list of Private Engineering Colleges in India by India Today Nationwide Survey. The achievement stands as the epitome of the commitment of the stakeholders of DAVIET to give their best to realise their aims. The Institutions in the fray were evaluated in the core domains of Infrastructure and Quality Governance, Academic Excellence, Infrastructure and Living Experience, Personality and Leadership Development and Career Progression and Placement. DAVIET was awarded the rank after multiple rounds of investigations and validations in the form of preliminary information through detailed questionnaires, followed by validation visits, parameters assignment and weightage finalisation to ensure a rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of the rankings of top engineering colleges in India. 

Dr Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET, congratulated the faculty, staff, and stakeholders for this achievement. He stated that we are going through unprecedented times where every walk of life has been hit hard by the pandemic.  The education sector is no different. He highlighted that most heartening during these dismal times is teachers and students’ indomitable spirit to continue exploring the new intellectual horizons. He shared that 320 million learners in India have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and have transitioned to e-learning. Dr Kumar emphasised that although times are tough yet DAVIETians have kept their spirits high.  The teachers of DAVIET have engaged the students through dedicated Whatsapp groups, Google classrooms, M-Tutors, TCS iON Digital Glass Room, Zoom online conference classrooms where they have provided the students notes, e-content, videos specific to topics and NPTEL videos. Further through products like E-Box and Talent Rank, students have constantly improved their knowledge base and have remained updated with the latest in their respective fields. Students have also been encouraged to enrol for MOOCs to enhance their skills set.  He reiterated that the institution is committed to providing a sound theoretical base to the students and hands-on practical knowledge to equip and empower them to meet the demands of the industry. He also shared that the emphasis on academics is observable in placements, and Adobe Systems have offered the highest pay packet of Rs 20.60 Lakhs. NAAC has also accredited the institute with an ‘A’ grade in the year 2017. He shared that all this has been possible because here at DAVIET, cross-functionality and interdisciplinary approach is emphasised. He credited the dedicated faculty and staff for the achievement, which leaves no stone unturned in facilitating the students’ learning experience in every possible way.
