Jalandhar, June 3, 2018: DAV College is contributing in a rich way to the society especially in the Jalandhar community. Many Olympians, national award winners and international players from this college have carried forward the pride of the college, so to run on a healthy tradition, the College organized trials in different sports in DAV College's playground yesterday. For the session 2018-19, about 600 athletes took part in these trials for the first 30 game disciplines.
DAV College has been the nursery of the Jalandhar player and has contributed a lot to the National Sports School. According to information made available by Dr.Manu Sood, Head of the Department of Physical Education, more than 100 students were selected in these trials. He informed that according to the rich tradition of the college, the selected athletes will be properly rewarded and various scholarships will also be provided. On the first day, Netball, Shooting, Taquando, Archery, Malcolm, Judo, Gemstones, Tug of War, Gatka, Kanuting, Kaiqing, Yachting, Squash Racket, Wet / Power Lifting, Water Polo, Cycling, Korfball, Kabaddi, Fencing, Best Fizzy , Swiming trials.
The second round of trials will start again tomorrow at college ground, i.e. 04-06-2018 ahead of 9 pm He further stated that the college is planning to organize a national session to celebrate the centenary of this year in the field of sporting events.
Principal Dr. S. K. Arora said that the game not only keeps the person healthy, but when it becomes a profession it gets respected. DAV College, Jalandhar has always provided the best players to the nation who have illuminated the country's name at national and international level. And through these trials we hope that we will also make the best players this time too. He gave his best wishes to all the participants in the trials.
