The Department of Information Technology at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, organised a Curriculum Revision Workshop on Monday in hybrid mode to align its academic framework of its UG programme with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Chandigarh, March 2, 2026: The Department of Information Technology at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, organised a Curriculum Revision Workshop on Monday in hybrid mode to align its academic framework of its UG programme with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The workshop aimed at updating the curriculum in accordance with emerging technological advancements, evolving academic standards, and current industry requirements. Faculty members, academic experts, industry professionals, and key stakeholders participated in detailed discussions to ensure that the revised syllabus reflects both academic rigor and industry relevance.

Experts from academia included Prof. Anil Monga, Coordinator (NEP Cell, PU); Prof. Krishan Kumar (UIET); Dr. Padmavati (PEC Chandigarh); and Dr. Navneet Aulakh (CSIO), who emphasized holistic curriculum development, interdisciplinary learning, and outcome-based education. Industry experts included Ms. Dimple Bhasin (Infosys), Mr. Sachin Jain (Shipco IT Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Rajeev Goel (TKN Sports and RentSolo), and Ms. Parneet Mehar (GoDaddy).

The deliberations focused on strengthening students’ technical skills, critical thinking, ethical grounding, and employability to prepare them for a competitive global environment. The recommendations offered during the workshop are expected to significantly enhance the quality, relevance, and future-readiness of the BE (IT) programme.

The workshop was convened by Prof. Mandeep Kaur and Dr. Raj Kumari in association with Prof. Amandeep Verma, Coordinator (IT), and Dr. Rajni Sobti.
