CU Punjab to Establish AIU Academic & Administrative Development Centre
The Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) has received formal approval from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to establish an AIU Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AIU-AADC) on its campus. This initiative aims to enhance the professional competencies of faculty and administrative staff across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Bathinda, July 5, 2025: The Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) has received formal approval from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to establish an AIU Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AIU-AADC) on its campus. This initiative aims to enhance the professional competencies of faculty and administrative staff across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The approval follows CU Punjab’s proposal submitted in response to AIU’s April 24, 2025 notification. In a letter confirming the approval, Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of AIU, appreciated the university's commitment to capacity building and congratulated the team on this significant achievement.
The AIU-AADC will organize five annual short-term training programmes, including at least one in offline mode, focusing on capacity building for academic, administrative, library, and technical personnel in HEIs.
Key thrust areas of AIU-AADC include continuous learning and skill enhancement, bridging faculty training gaps, e-governance and ICT readiness, integration of pedagogy with technology, research, innovation and project proposal writing, academic integrity and professional ethics, online teaching and e-content development, strategic alignment with NEP 2020 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and resource mobilization. CU Punjab is now in the process of formalizing the establishment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the objectives, scope, thrust areas, and terms and operational conditions.
Dr. Mittal expressed confidence that under dynamic leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the AIU-AADC centre at the Central University of Punjab leadership will play a pivotal role in strengthening academic and administrative capabilities across the higher education sector.
On this momentous occasion, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab, expressed his gratitude towards AIU for provide approval for establishment of AIU-AADC at CU Punjab. He commended the efforts of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for preparing and submitting the proposal that led to this significant recognition. Prof. Tiwari stated that the establishment of this centre will serve as a catalyst for nurturing academic leadership and strengthening institutional capacities, enabling faculty and administrators to effectively respond to the evolving demands of the higher education ecosystem.
This collaboration marks a significant step for CU Punjab in contributing to the continuous capacity building of key stakeholders in higher education through both online and in-person modes.
