Jalandhar, October 5, 2019: To sensitize the students towards the environment, students of CT World students came together to launch a campaign against use of plastics. The main objective of this drive was to make students aware of how to get rid of plastics, which poses a threat to life and environment.
Students acted like environmentalists and were totally immersed in the activity. They made beautiful vases, wall hangings, photo frames, flowers with the discarded newspapers and some of them also made bags out of pieces of discarded cloth.
Later, a session depicting the alternatives to be used instead of harmful chemicals was delivered by Lipika Kochar, an environmentalist and social worker who explained that how the use of plastics can cause incurable diseases and how we can avoid them.
Students were also made to pledge to refuse plastic and were encouraged to use paper, cloth as an alternative.
Madhu Sharma, Principal, CT World School appreciated the efforts of the students and remarked that our planet is home not only to us. Many other creatures live here, for whom plastic is a menace. As responsible citizens, we should stop using plastic bags, and also, we promise to make our parents, friends and neighbours aware of the plastic pollution threat.
Manbir Singh, Managing Director appreciated the efforts of making young minds sensitize for the harmful effects of plastic.
