CT University developed ‘Smart Cabinet’

Ludhiana, January 9, 2023:  CT University is fulfilling all the needs of students and providing world class knowledge to students by giving hands-on experience of science and innovations for different social needs. Robotics and Automation Lab, CT University develops a smart Cabinet for Medicines. The prototype was developed with the help of Satyam Gupta and Gurkirat under the Guidance of Dr. Harmeet Singh, Deputy Director IPR Cell. The main feature of the smart cabinet is that it only opens if the persons sanitise the hand first, then after 20 seconds, the cabinet opens. After taking out the medicine from the cabinet person has to sanitise again to close the cabinet. UV light is placed inside the cabinet to sanitise the inner area.

The whole is connected to the internet. There is an OLED screen that displays the temperature, humidity and sanitizer countdown to the users. In Future a small refrigeration unit to maintain the temperature inside the cabinet. This smart can be used in hospitals, small clinics and even in houses.

Dr. Harmeet Singh, Deputy Director IPR Cell said “The Smart Cabinet is patented and the unique feature is that blind people can use this cabinet very easily. For blind people, the sub cabin will come out and blind people can take the particular medicine. ”
