Jalandhar: As Stanley Kubrick has very rightly said, “However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.” Pondering over this thought, and trying to reinvent herself during the days of lockdown, Disha Mahajan, a IX grade student of CT Public School decided to search for happiness during this pandemic. She found solace and happiness in painting and expressed her ideas and perceptions creatively.

She strongly believes in Walt Disney’s quote, “Happiness is a state of mind. It's just according to the way you look at things.” Disha took this lockdown in her stride with positivity. She said, “During the initial days of lockdown last year, it was quite tough for me to cope up with the same. The daily routine at home was almost the same. It was quite depressing. But then I realised that I should continue my art talent and hence I started spending my time over it. Today, I am so happy that I have painted so many new things and explored my art talent to a larger extent.”

Disha started her artful journey and took to canvas when she was in her kindergarten where she honed her skills under the guidance of her Art teachers and participated in lnter-School competitions. She bagged the first position in an inter school poster making competition after which there was no turning back. She went on to scale greater heights and took part in various competitions organised by Avantika, Camlin and Lions Club International and brought laurels to her Alma Mater.

She also bagged a great opportunity to showcase her talent at a State level competition organised by The Ministry of Power, Government of India where she gave wings to her imagination and dazzled everyone with her creativity. Her blissful play with paint and brush always comes with a food for thought and entreats the onlookers to ponder over the message which comes with her paintings.

CT Public School Managing Director Manbir Singh and Principal Daljeet Rana applauded her ingenuity as she owes her success story to her Alma Mater and will always be filled with gratitude for the support rendered by the school authorities.
