Jalandhar, August 16, 2019: CT Public School and CT World School celebrated the auspicious festival of India’s 73rd Independence Day in which the students presented many cultural programmes.

CT Public School choir enthralled the audience with their rendition of patriotic songs. In the Inter House Group Dance Competition based on patriotism Nelson Mandela House and Kalpana Chawla House bagged the first position. A One-Act play in Hindi was staged depicting how our Indian Army destroyed the terrorists in the Kargil War and sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The tiny tots in Kindergarten also expressed their love for the country by garbing themselves in the attire of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, Jhansi ki Rani, Mother India and many more.
CT World School also marked the occasion by making students participate in many cultural programs related to the day. The school choir set the pitch for the program with prayer song. Dance by tiny tots, Inter house singing competition, enactment of India’s journey towards independence, such events were organised by the students in tribute to freedom fighters who sacrificed their all for the country. The students expressed their sentiments and aspirations for the country through English and Hindi speeches. The function concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.
On this occasion, CT Group Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi congratulated the students on the occasion of Independence Day. In her address to the students, she said that although everyone is free but we should remain in discipline in order to enjoy the freedom.

CTPS Principal Daljeet Singh and CT World School Principal Madhu Sharma told the students to follow the ideals of the great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose etc. They spoke about the significance of the historic day and urged the students to become ideal citizens of the country.
