Jalandhar, May 14, 2015: Achieving great heights, CT Public School has been awarded the Certificate of International School Accreditation (ISA) by the British Council. It is an accreditation policy which is conferred on the schools for pioneering work in integrating international dimensions in the school curriculum. The school curriculum was restructured to add international dimensions to it.

The students and staff of the school had been working strenuously in collaboration with International Schools and studying and analyzing various global issues under the supervision of Pushpinder Lehri (Coordinator, ISA). The students conducted innumerable activities related to the issues and brought about various suggestions. Given a wonderful platform, the school will be able to interact with international schools and participate in their respective activities & vice versa.

The students from primary to secondary section were involved. The British Council had approved seven global projects for all the age groups of the school. Projects included World Health Day, Say No to Polythene, Reduce Recycle and Reuse, Rights of the Elderly People & Coalescence of Climate.

There was a collaborative project called Handmade Paper- the Art of Saving Trees. The award recipient school worked on this project with Al Shorouq Private School (Dubai), Sunrise Academy and Bethany High School of Nepal and others.

The final online project was ‘Let’s play together’. Ranjana Rajput (Principal, CT Public School) informed that based on the international parameters, the British Council approved the school projects. She said, “In the final project, we posted the video of “Pithoo Garam” (a traditional game) on You Tube. Our video received tremendous response from the viewers and was highly appreciated by the council.”

The Award will be formally presented to the school in a ceremony in July this year. The award carries an accreditation that allows the school to use the ISA logo for three years. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) congratulated the school ISA team, staff and the students for the efforts made for making the global learning platform, a common performance arena for all and widening their vision of knowledge. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “ISA provides a framework for schools to develop an action plan and implement international activities throughout the year and encourages schools to collaborate with overseas schools to create a rich learning experience for students through use of ICT, creative pedagogical practices and real context for learning. He said that the school was elated to receive this prestigious award in recognition of their work to promote international outlook among children.
