CT Institute of Architecture and Planning marks World Habitat Day

Jalandhar, October 15, 2022: CT Institute of Architecture and Planning, South Campus, Shahpur in association with The Institution of Engineers (India), Ludhiana local center celebrated World Habitat Day. Over 200 students and delegates took part in this event. The event also saw an exhibition by students of CTIAP showcasing their excellent work and designs. This reminds us that we need to take care of our earth to maintain our habitat. This year the theme of the event was Mind The Gap. The theme of the day was Mind The Gap. Welcoming the Chief Guest Dr. Jatinder Kapoor, Honorary Secretary, IE(I), Ludhiana Local Centre, Ar. Shruti H Kapur, Principal CTIAP,  said that World habitat day is one of the eight statutory days being observed by The Institution of Engineers (India).

Dr. Jatinder Kapoor, Hon. Secretary, IE(I)  said that institution of Engineers (India) was one of the oldest bodies of engineers which were incorporated vide Royal Charter in 1920

The expert speaker for the day was Dr. Arvind Dhingra Executive Director STEP, GNDEC, Ludhiana said the world was facing numerous problems due to non inclusion discrimination of the masses. Engineers and architects should make all efforts for inclusive development and bridging the gap.

To mark World Architecture Day, Ar. Mridula in her expert lecture said that World Architecture day this year was centered around the theme of Mind The Gap.  She highlighted the three C's: COVID, Climate, and Conflict as factors affecting the human population. She provided statistical figures to show the impact of Covid-19 & climate change on the Indian population
 
Chancellor of CT University Charanjit Singh Channi and  Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dy Director, CT  Group of institutes shahpur appreciated the efforts of  CTIAP and congratulated everyone for the successful conduct of the event  He also thanked senior members of the Institution of Engineers (India), Ludhiana Local center for making the event a grand one with their gracious presence.
