CT Group organises beat the heat online dance competition

Jalandhar: Following ahead various online competitions, Department of Cultural Affairs, CT Group of Institutions organised an online dance competition titled “Beat The Heat” in which more than 110 participants under 3 age categories, 6-12 years, 12-18 years and 18 years and above participated.

The contestants from India and Canada sent their Bhangra videos which were later uploaded on social media platform. The judges namely Shubhjeet Kaur who is a Gold medallist in Kathak and Mrs. Chandigarh 2019; Mansi Upadhyay, National Winner of Classical Dance and Prabhjot Kaur, Master in Latin dance along with winner of Asia Open Championship 2018 had a tough time in adjudging the contestants.

Out of the total participants, 45 were shortlisted on the basis of number of maximum likes and judges decision. Out of these, the top three winners under age category 6-12 years remained Riva stood first, Harshita Gupta and Harmeet Kaur stood second and Lovish Sharma stood third, whereas, under age category of 12-18 years, Gloria Lokhande stood first, Harshita Athmai and Geetanjali stood second and Inayat Dua stood third and under 18 years and above category, Abhishek stood first, Ridhima and Sachin stood second and Gaurav stood third.

CT Group Managing Director Manbir Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of department’s Davinder Singh for organising this dance competition that included all other forms except Bhangra. He also thanked participants from outside India who participated and showed their love for various dance forms.
