More than 150 locals pledge to donate their eyes

CT Group and Sankara Eye Hospital holds free cataract surgery camp

Jalandhar, July 27, 2022: CT Group of Institutions, South Campus, Shahpur under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in association with Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana and Youth Voice Foundation Jalandhar held a free eye screening camp in which more than 400 locals from nearby villages etc participated and got themselves screened at Shahpur Campus. 

This was the 3rd free cataract surgery camp since year 2021 by CT Group towards its aim to provide community eye care to masses. 

A team of ophthalmologists from Sankara Eye Hospital namely Ravinder Pal Chawla, Unit Head; Surgeon Dr. Utkarsh; Surgeon Dr. Diviyanshu and GNM Gurmeet Kaur screened the patients and shortlisted 50 patients for free cataract surgeries at the hospital. Besides, more than 150 locals pledged to donate their eyes with Sankara Eye Hospital.

Telling about the camp, CT Group Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh said, “This is a part of joint longstanding commitment of CT Group of Institutions & Sankara Eye Hospital under social welfare with an aim to provide free eye care services to the economically disadvantaged people of Jalandhar. We have a mutual aim to have 100 cataract backlog free villages by December 2022.”

On the occasion, CT Group Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi, Campus Director (Officiating) Dr. Anupam Sharma, Director Research and Planning Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Dr. Vaneet Thakur, Dr. Sangram Singh, Youth Voice Foundation President Gagandeep Dhatt, Jaskirat Toor etc were also present.
