Continuous Enforcement Drives Underway to Curb Misuse and Black Marketing of Domestic LPG Cylinders: DC Sachin Gupta

Rohtak, April 7, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that continuous enforcement drives are being carried out in the district to curb misuse and black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders, ensuring transparency and smooth functioning of the supply system.
He said that inspection teams of the Food and Supplies Department are regularly conducting raids at various dhabas and commercial establishments across the city. So far, 105 domestic LPG cylinders have been seized during these operations. He added that such drives will continue in the future to strictly prevent misuse and ensure rightful availability for domestic consumers.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that 35 gas agencies are currently operational in the district, supplying approximately 7,000 to 7,500 domestic cylinders daily to consumers, while 8,000 to 10,000 cylinders are being received daily from oil companies, ensuring uninterrupted supply. He further stated that adequate stock of LPG, petrol, and diesel is available in the district, and there is no shortage of fuel.
Appealing to citizens, he urged them to avoid rumours, maintain calm, and refrain from unnecessary hoarding of LPG cylinders.
Promoting cleaner and safer alternatives, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers in areas where Piped Natural Gas (PNG) is available to apply for PNG connections. He informed that 168 applications have been received since March 2026 across different categories.
Providing details of the PNG connection charges, he stated that under the lump sum plan, the total cost is ₹6,000 per household, including ₹5,000 as interest-free refundable security deposit, ₹500 as refundable gas security, and ₹500 as processing and documentation charges (including GST). Under the EMI plan, the total cost is ₹6,100, with an initial payment of ₹1,100 and the remaining ₹5,000 payable in 10 easy instalments of ₹500 each. For pipeline length beyond 15 meters, additional charges of ₹413 per meter (including GST) will apply. Cash payments are not accepted, and rates are subject to change.
He highlighted that key benefits of PNG include 24×7 supply, pay-as-you-use billing, enhanced safety, and an environmentally friendly system.
