Congress Faces Setback in Ludhiana West! Several Leaders Join Aam Aadmi Party
In a major boost for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) before the Ludhiana West Assembly by-election, the Congress suffered a significant blow as several senior leaders and more than half a dozen local social activists joined AAP on Monday.

Ludhiana, June 2, 2025: In a major boost for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) before the Ludhiana West Assembly by-election, the Congress suffered a significant blow as several senior leaders and more than half a dozen local social activists joined AAP on Monday.
AAP Punjab’s Working President AmanSher Singh Shery Kalsi, in the presence of MLAs Ashok Parashar Pappi, Jeevan Jyot Kaur, Jasveer Singh Raja Gill, Davinder Singh Laddi Dhos, Kulwant Sidhu, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, Gurpreet Banawali, and other party officials, formally inducted the new leaders into the party and extended a warm welcome.
Among the prominent leaders who joined was Nivesh Vasan from Ward No. 63 in Ludhiana. His family has been associated with the Congress for the past 35 years. Vasan accused the Congress of internal conflicts, factionalism, and neglecting local workers, breaking his 35-year-long association with the party to join AAP along with dozens of supporters.
Jeet Ram, a former real estate officer with PUDA and GLADA, also joined AAP, impressed by the party's policies. He was accompanied by Advocate Rahul Cheema, Rishi Kapoor, Bhimsen Bansal, Sahil Bansal, Sanjeev Malhan, Kashmiri Lal, Rajneesh Dhawan, and Balraj Singh, among others.
Additionally, Ludhiana's young social activist Jeevan Gupta joined AAP with dozens of his associates. Real estate businessman Pawan Kumar from Ward No. 62 also joined the party along with his family and several supporters.
Addressing the media on this occasion, Shery Kalsi stated that the people of Punjab have complete faith in the AAP government. People from all sections of society are supporting the party’s policies and joining AAP in large numbers every day. He added that there is a wave of support for AAP in Ludhiana West, and the party is set to win this election by a significant margin, breaking the record set during the Jalandhar West by-election.
