Conference on ‘Cardiology Update and Cardiac imaging’ held

Ludhiana, March 6, 2022: Hero DMC Heart Institute and Department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging, DMCH organized a conference on “Cardiology Update & Cardiac Imaging” in the Auditorium of DMCH College Campus.

This conference was focused on the most recent advancement in all aspects of Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Radiology, Clinical case reports on Cardiology. During the conference various national fame dwelt on various clinical topics.
Secretary DMCH Managing Society,  Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the efforts of Department of Cardiology HDHI for conducting this conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr GS Wander, Chief Cardiologist, HDHI, said that this conference will act as a bridge among experts to exchange their ideas and insights to expand the knowledge clinically as well as academically

According to Dr Bishav Mohan, Professor Department of Cardiology HDHI who has organized this conference, cardiovascular disease are still the main cause of complication and mortality. This conference will help to update the academic and practical knowledge of budding Cardiologist and Radio diagnosis

The conference was started with well-informed topics which included  Management of heart failure: Update 2021, Interesting cases of heart failure and Management choices in AMI: Which where and when. Topics were delivered by Prof Sandeep Seth, Department of Cardiology, AIIMS, New Delhi, Prof Sundeep Mishra, Department of Cardiology, AIIMS New Delhi and Prof Ambu Roy, Department of Cardiology, AIIMS New Delhi.

Current concept in Management of Dyslipidemia and Newer evidence of Yoga in Medicine was covered by Dr D Prabhakaran, Director CCCC, Vice President PHFI, New Delhi and by Prof Gautam Sharma Department of Cardiology, AIIMS, New Delhi respectively.

The speakers included, Prof Kothari, HOD of Cardiology, AIIMS Delhi, Prof. Nitish Naik, Dept. Of Cardiology, AIIMS, Delhi, Dr. TS Kaler, Chairman, Fortis Hospitals, Gurugram.

Prof  Sanjeev Sharma, Ex HOD Cardiac Radiology, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dept of Cradiology shared the recent advancement in the field of Cardiac Radiology, Prof. Priya Jagia, HOD Cardiac Radiology, and Dr Niraj Pandey, Dept of Cardiac Radiology, AIIMS, New Delhi joined the conference virtually. 

Rota Hands-on workshop was conducted by Dr Himanshu Gupta, Dept of Cardiology, PGI.

During the conference STEMI ICMR Meeting was conducted for the effective implementation of STEMI Project. STEMI       Project is being carried out in 12 districts of the country out of which two are in Punjab including Ludhiana where 14 spoke centres have been set up with well equipped facilities to provide best treatment for the patients suffering from heart attack within Golden Period. Dr PC Negi, Prof & Head IGMC, Shimla, Dr Meenakshi Sharma and Dr Roopa Shivashankar ICMR, New Delhi and Dr Kavita Singh, PHFI, New Delhi, were the faculty participating in the talk. 

All the delegates actively participated in various panel discussions and interactive sessions. Approximately 400 delegates from various parts of the country attended this conference.
