Comprehensive Value Added Course on “Safety Measures & First Aid in Daily Life” concludes 

Chandigarh, March 7, 2025: Comprehensive Value Added Course on “Safety Measures & First Aid in Daily Life” concluded at the Centre for Public Health, Panjab University. 

The four-day intensive training, aimed at equipping participants with essential life-saving skills, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 students.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Chairperson, Centre for Public Health and Sh. Sanjeev Dhiman, State Training Officer, commended the resource persons for their dedication and the participants for their active engagement.

Resource persons, Chander Pal and Dr. Siddharth Sharma, esteemed trainers from the Red Cross Society, Haryana, conducted the sessions with expertise and practical demonstrations. The curriculum covered a wide range of critical first aid scenarios, including:

 * Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training
 * Fracture Management
 * Animal Bite Response
 * Bandaging and Wound Care
 * Bleeding Control
 * Burns and Scalds Treatment
 * Safe Transportation of Patients/Casualties
 * Accident Case Management
 * Poisoning and Electric Shock Response
 * Disaster Preparedness

The practical and hands-on nature of the training allowed participants to gain confidence in their ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

The course received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants. Many students expressed that the training was invaluable and emphasised the importance of such sessions being conducted annually. They strongly believe that every individual should possess these fundamental first aid skills. “This training has given us the confidence to handle emergencies effectively,” shared one student. “Everyone should learn these skills, it could save a life.” Another participant added, “This should be an annual event. These skills are essential for everyone.”
