Noida, October 18, 2019: Amity School Of Business organized the 2nd International Conference on Global Business Strategies for Sustainability (GLOBUSS – 2019) on theme “Driving Business Excellence through Digital Transformation” at the University Campus, Noida.
Inaugurating the conference, Mr.Ajay Chagti, Special Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi emphasized upon the importance of digital transformation and mentioned that we are at the cusp of disruption, with block chain, artificial intelligence and IoT being the three important aspect that are interlinked. He called upon the budding professionals to embrace the technological change and explore the opportunities for establishing start-ups which will help in economical and societal development of the nation.
Mr.Navroze Dhondy, Founder and Managing Director at Creatigies Communications apprised about digital marketing excellence through digital transformation. “Digital Transformation is a cultural change that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo, experiment and get comfortable with failure.” He stressed that brands cannot escape technological changes and further talked about various brands focusing on digital campaigns that help them connect to their audience. Mr. Dhondy apprised that marketers now have data driven insights, so instead of planning a one-size fits all trip, marketers can build one to one journeys that observe customer behavior and shape the experiences along the way to best suit each individual buyer. “Companies who want to succeed must understand how to merge technology with strategy.” he opined.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjeev Bhargava, Director, Brand TOI, TIMS and Mirror talked about on how print is still relevant in today’s digital time. He said that digital is fast expanding and gives high level of consumer engagement but internet is both strength and weakness. At one hand, there is an easy access to information while on other, there is too much of information available and fear of data sharing. He added that only print can get instantaneous, impactful reach in one vs other mediums that deliver build-up over time. Moreover, print offers data privacy of readers. He informed that print is also gaining popularity with increase in literacy in the country, and world at large.
Prof. J.K. Sharma, Director, ASB informed that the conference had received more than 90 papers from across the nation.
During the day, various technical sessions were conducted on topics such as Finance, IT and Operations Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship and Human Resource and General Management, which was attended by hundreds of students of Amity University.
