Commemorating 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji
Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO, accompanied by Advisor for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali, meticulously reviewed preparations for the grand Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Punjab government to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

Ludhiana, October 11, 2025: Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO, accompanied by Advisor for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali, meticulously reviewed preparations for the grand Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Punjab government to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
During the meeting, the ministers outlined that one of the four grand Nagar Kirtans will commence from Faridkot on November 20, traversing through Ferozepur and Moga before reaching Ludhiana on the same day. The procession will pass through significant landmarks, including Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon, Mullanpur Dakha, Ludhiana Chungi, Westend Mall, Verka Milk Point, PAU, Aarti Chowk, and Bharat Nagar Chowk, before halting for the night at Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib. Next morning, it will leave for Sri Fatehgarh Sahib district.
The Ministers emphasized that the Nagar Kirtan will be conducted with utmost reverence, embodying the values of communal harmony, peace, brotherhood, compassion, and humanity as preached by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. These teachings will also be vividly showcased through state-of-the-art light and sound shows. A ceremonial guard of honor will welcome the Nagar Kirtan as it enters Jagraon, Ludhiana, and Khanna. To ensure a smooth and dignified procession, the ministers directed that the roads along the route be thoroughly cleaned and carpeted for the convenience of participants.
The Administration of Ludhiana and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib was instructed to extend special invitations to village panchayats, all organizations, trade bodies, and religious institutions, including temples, gurudwaras, mosques and others, to foster widespread participation. Officials were also tasked with identifying suitable venues for the light and sound shows in both cities, which will depict the life and legacy of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
Additionally, designated locations for Langar points were to be finalized, with strict adherence to traditional Maryada (Sikh code of conduct) during all events. To maintain the sanctity of the occasion, all liquor, tobacco, and cigarette shops along the route will remain closed during the Nagar Kirtan. They encouraged all officers to perform their duties with unwavering dedication and selfless service (sewa).
MLAs Ashok Parashar Pappi, Madan Lal Bagga, and Lakhbir Singh Rai (Sri Fatehgarh Sahib), Director of Tourism Sanjeev Kumar Tewari, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Deputy Commissioners Himanshu Jain (Ludhiana) and Dr. Sona Thind (Sri Fatehgarh Sahib), SSPs Dr. Ankur Gupta and Shubam Agarwal, Joint CP Rupinder Singh, and other dignitaries were present.
