CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja visited Automotive Skills Development Council  (ASDC) Headquarter in New Delhi. He had meeting with  Arindam Lahiri, Chief Executive Officer and Amit Mukherji ASDC and discussed various options of Skill Development and advanced skills etc.

Ludhiana, December 7, 2023: CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja visited Automotive Skills Development Council  (ASDC) Headquarter in New Delhi. He had meeting with  Arindam Lahiri, Chief Executive Officer and Amit Mukherji ASDC and discussed various options of Skill Development and advanced skills etc.

Automotive Skills Development Council ASDC is one of the First Councils to deliver training to the youth in the Automotive Sector. A joint initiative of the Government of India. The Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers (SIAM). The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and the Federation of Automotive Dealers Associations (FADA), ASDC has been contributing to the nation's growth with its effective courses and programs designed to upskill the workforce in the Automotive Industry. With the changing business environment and rapidly changing technology. It strives to uplift and provide the youth with the right skills and opportunities. To bridge the gap between the skills required in the industry and the skills possessed by the youth. ASDC has come into existence.

CICU is setting up a Centre of Excellence with specialization in New Product development. The purpose of the same is to build capacity in Industry for development of New Product at the fastest pace.  Which is lacking in the state. Centre will consist of 3D Parametric modelling, Concept Design,  Detailed Engineering, Validation of Assembly design, Weight reduction and optimization,  Assembly part count reduction and simplification of design, Design-to-manufacture (DFM),  Design-for-assembly (DFA)– Preparing Bill of Materials, Reverse Engineering– 3D printing and prototyping, New Product Development Studies, Tear down and feature analysis, Model Based Design(MBD) of parts and assemblies (Paperless drawings, Quality Check of Drawings– Training of fresher’s on CAD Software.

This Centre will help the industry to develop new parts and improve existing parts with this world class centre.

CICU is exploring various options for short term courses and Diploma Courses for the youth. CICU will tie up with Prime Institutions like IIT’s and National Design Institute as well.
