The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) successfully organized an insightful and highly informative port visit to the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at GRFL, Sahnewal-Ludhiana, for the participants of its prestigious 12th Batch of the Export Training Program. The visit was conducted with the objective of providing hands-on exposure to real-world export operations and strengthening practical understanding of international trade procedures.

Ludhiana, December 4, 2025: The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) successfully organized an insightful and highly informative port visit to the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at GRFL, Sahnewal-Ludhiana, for the participants of its prestigious 12th Batch of the Export Training Program. The visit was conducted with the objective of providing hands-on exposure to real-world export operations and strengthening practical understanding of international trade procedures.
The visit was led by Vinod Kumar, Export Trainer & Senior Faculty, CICU, whose vast experience and practical insights added immense value to the learning experience. He elaborated on key operational aspects such as Container Stuffing, Customs Examination Procedures, Documentation Flow, Cargo Movement, and the Role of Modern Logistics Systems in Streamlining Exports. Participants gained first-hand knowledge of how export consignments move from factory floors to global destinations.
As part of CICU’s comprehensive Export Training Program, participants are being trained in crucial topics including India’s Foreign Trade Policy, Export-Import Documentation, Customs Procedures and Incentives under FTP, Logistics Management, Compliance Requirements, and Global Market Strategies. The ICD visit served as a practical extension of this classroom training, allowing participants to connect theory with real-time execution.
CICU expressed its sincere gratitude to Nasim Arshi, Commissioner of Customs, Ludhiana, for his valuable support and encouragement for such educational initiatives. His continuous efforts toward strengthening industry–government collaboration are highly appreciated. Special thanks were also extended to Shashank Kirar, Inspector of Customs, and Sanjay Kumar Thakur, Senior Manager (Operations), GRFL, for their interactive session with the participants and for sharing practical insights into customs and logistics operations.
