Chief Minister thanked for sanctioning 97 posts for UHF Nauni

The management and staff of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni thanked the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur and the entire cabinet for granting approval to fill 62 non-teaching posts of different categories and 35 posts of scientists in the university.

The management and staff of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni thanked the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur and the entire cabinet for granting approval to fill 62 non-teaching posts of different categories and 35 posts of scientists in the university.

Thanking the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur and the entire cabinet for approving the filling of 97 posts of non-teaching and teaching staff in the university, UHF Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajeshwar Singh Chandel said that the posts will help the university to effectively function and ensure the quality deliverance of teaching, research and extension activities. He said that sanctioned posts will help to fill the different categories of posts that have fallen vacant due to the several retirements taking place every month.

Professor Chandel added that in non-teaching, many posts like Lab Assistant, Technical Assistant Grade 2, Drivers, Hostel Attendants, Junior Photographer and Junior Scale Stenographer have been sanctioned after a gap of several decades. These positions will be used to augment the human resource in the main campus and constituent colleges, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Regional Horticulture Research and Training Stations of the university located in different agroclimatic zones in the state. Moreover, this will enable the university to effectively serve the farming community which is dependent on the university for the transfer of technical know-how and the latest developments in agriculture, horticulture and forestry.   

In the past three months, the university has taken steps to fill vacant posts of various categories in different departments. Sixty-one posts of non-teaching staff which include Computer programmer, Junior engineer, JOA (IT), Caretaker, etc. have been filled along with six posts of Deans and Directors. The process of filling up 44 posts of Assistant/Associate Professors is presently underway.
