Chief Administrator GLADA oversees ongoing Redevelopment work of Main Market Sector 32A on Chandigarh Road

Ludhiana, October 20, 2023: Under the chairmanship of CM Bhagwant Singh Maan for speedy and better planned development of Ludhiana city and under the leadership of Sagar Setia, Chief Administrator, GLADA, several development and redevelopment works under GLADA are going on to facilitate the people of Ludhiana,of which one of the project is Redevelopment of Main Market Sector 32A, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana.

This market having total area 12.85 acres consists of 41 SCO’s and 18 booths and one hotel site. This is the only modern market in the Ludhiana East Constituency, having many popular eatery joints, gyms, banks etc. This market was earlier developed 15 years back . Now considering very heavy footfall of the people in this market, it needs redevelopment and to cater this the work of redevelopment of the Main Market Sec 32A has been allotted with amount of Rs 3.48 crore with time limit of 6 months. The redevelopment work will include Laying of 80mm interlocking tiles in parking area, 50mm thick paver on pavement area, providing storm water drainage include road gullies, repair and renovation of existing poles and lighting with octagonal poles and LED lights and also includes horticulture works in various parks of this market.

A 3D model of this project has also been prepared as to how it will look after its actual completion and today to review the progress of the project, Chief Administrator, GLADA Sagar Setia, visited the market site along with other GLADA officials. He instructed officials to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project. He said in a statement that this redevelopment project after its completion will increase the potential of this market aesthically as well as economically and will also provide convenience to the public commuting.
