Chandigarh May 3, 2025: Taking strong exception to the remarks made by former Punjab Chief Minister CS Channi questioning the Indian security forces' surgical strikes on Pakistan sponsored militants camps, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh launched a scathing attack on the Congress over its repeated attempts to undermine India’s armed forces.
Chugh said the Congress leaders have become the mouthpiece of Pakistan ISI and their design is to weaken the nation's strength to combat the enemy. He said be it Robert Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi or any other Congress leader it has been their concerted effort to undermine the national security forces.
Chugh stated: “After the Pulwama attack, when our brave forces struck deep into Pakistan to destroy terror camps, the entire nation stood united. But now, Congress leaders question that bravery — this is not dissent, this is sabotage.”
Hitting out at the Congress Working Committee, he remarked “On the outside, it may be the Congress Working Committee, but from the inside, it has become the Pakistan Working Committee. Every time Pakistan is cornered, Congress emerges to provide oxygen — to its terrorists, its army, and its global image.”
Referring directly to Channi’s controversial statement, Chugh asked “When Charanjit Channi says ‘India did not conduct surgical strikes on Pakistan,’ does that not demoralise our Army? Does it not shake the trust of 140 crore Indians?”
He further added “At a time when the nation is mourning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Congress is busy raising doubts, seeking ‘proof’ and questioning our national security apparatus. It is shameful and unacceptable.”
Calling out the Gandhi family, Chugh said “This is the same Congress that trivialised the martyrdom of our soldiers, doubted Balakot airstrikes, and now insults our forces again. The Gandhi family might not understand the pulse of this nation, but they have no right to insult its protectors.”
