Chandigarh University became winner of “Fitoor 2K20” Media Fest

Jalandhar: DAV University became first runner up whereas Doaba College became second runner up of the Media Fest.

Former MP and Chairman Water Resource, Punjab S. Jagbir Singh Brar joined as the Chief Guest of the Media Fest.

Journalism and Mass Communication Department in association with Personality and Skill Development Cell of DAV College, Jalandhar organised "Fitoor 2K20" Media Fest in which different colleges and universities from overall Punjab participated. In this Media Fest, Chandigarh University bagged the overall trophy whereas DAV University bagged First Runner Up Trophy and Doaba College bagged Second Runner Up trophy. 

Former MP and Chairman Water Resource , Punjab S. Jagbir Singh Brar joined as the Chief Guest of the Media Fest wheras Guest of honor was Shri. Ajay Goswami . These guests were welcomed by Principal Dr. S. K. Arora and Head of JMC Department Prof. Meenakshi Mohan, Pro Prof Manush Khanna, Prof S K Midda and Prof Jyoti Mahajan by presenting a flower bouquet. After which the ceremony was started ny lightning the lamp.

Chief Guest S. Jagbir Singh Brar while addressing the students said that he is feeling very happy today as he is here . He said that students of media line are the future of the country . He said media is a strong pillar of the country and it is the duty of these students to take the country forward. Apart from this, they made the students aware regarding save water and also said that you should make others aware.

On this occasion Principal Dr. S. K. Arora while welcoming all the colleges and universities said that it is a matter of great pride for the journalism and mass communication department and the entire college that we are organizing a fest in which various colleges and universities are participating from all over Punjab . For this he praised Head of Journalism and Mass Communication Department and Dean of Personality and Skill Development Prof. Meenakshi mohan. Addressing the students, he said that the media is the fourth pillar of the country. You all have the responsibility to take society and the country forward. Today, the various competitions held in this fest will enhance your inner art. He extended his best wishes to all the contestants participating in the competition.

Head of Journalism and Mass Communication Department and Dean of Personality and Skill Development Cell Prof. Meenakshi Mohan welcomed all the guests, Students as well as Teachers of various Colleges and Universities . She said that all of you have reached this media fest today and we hope that all of you will take good memories from here with a smile. He welcomed the former students of her department on their return to college. She said that it is a matter of great pride that our students are working in various fields of media today and it is very honourable that today they have placed themselves at this level that we are calling them as judges.

In this media fest there were competitions of Rap, Radio Jockey, Personality Reflection, Choreography, Ad mad, Short Film, Documentary, Audio Ad, Visual Ad, Report Writing, Story writing, Cartooning, News Reading, Piece to Camera, Photography and Caption Writing.

On this occasion, Journalism and Mass Communication Department honoured their alumnis as well as judges of various items. Apart from this , the representatives of main Sponsors Japnoor Overseas and Co Sponsors Jain Overseas, Bismato, Navyug Motors, Guftagu and Tanishq were also honored because of whom this fest became successful .

In the evening, the live band was presented by Gaurav Kaler (Gavie) along with his band , a student of Journalism and Mass Communication Department and winner of Western Singing of last year's National Youth Fest which forced the entire auditorium to dance . Apart from this, famous Punjabi folk singer Shri Dalvinder Dayalpuri also attended this fest and forced everyone to sing with his songs.

Apart from this students of department also gave various guest performances like Folk song, mimicry, choreography, rap etc and entertained the entire auditorium.

The stage was hosted by VJ Vishesh Chhabra who is from Aaho Tv as well as an Alumni of department. RJ of Big FM and Student of department RJ Dhir, Alumni and RJ Aditya Sharma of Big FM Amritsar, Anmol, Himalaya Prakash, Navya Berry, Sakshi Sharma and Monika .

On this occasion Staff Secretary Prof. Vipin Jhanda, PRO Prof. Manish Khanna Prof. Sharad Manocha , , Prof. Sahib Singh, Prof. Geetika Jain and from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication Prof. Jyoti Vardhan Mahajan , Prof. Balkrishan Thakur, Prof. Avneet Kaur, , Prof. Gaurav were also present.

DAV College, Jalandhar was the host of this Media Fest "Fitoor 2K20" and therefore, ethically they did not performed.
