Chandigarh, August 8, 2019: Music is therapy for many. Transcending from a meditative realm to experience one`s own thoughts and emotions through music is an experience to live for.

To invigorate this soulful experience, Nimisha Shankar, the Founder and Director of Recalling Roots will be performing a musical rendition curated around the Chakras at The Tagore Theatre at 5.30 pm on 11 August. If indulged in this meditation, that is Nimisha Shankar`s creation, it helps one to connect with their spiritual self.

Recalling Roots is a platform where musical & cultural identities from various parts of the world amalgamate to bring alive a vivid sensory experience. They augment their ideas through research and documentation, while organizing concerts, performances, screenings, and workshops for their dissemination. Apart from this, they collaborate with museum spaces, music and art festivals for a multitude of multi-dimensional projects- chronicling histories, mixing styles and crafting novelties.
The tour is intended to throw light on therapeutic power of Indian classical music. The idea of the performance is to create a unique experience by portraying a combination of emotions and textures packaged into one bundle for you to unfold and absorb.

Nimisha Shankar has been encouraging the concept of Chakra meditation for a balanced soul. Speaking of her musical journey, she says “Music always has something to offer us. Different people are affiliated with different genres of music. It is something that nourishes us, whether therapeutically or emotionally. The therapeutic value of music goes in terms of frequencies and vibrations. We are all made of energies and we all are vibrating. So when you go into the physics of it, it can have an effect on our body.”

The idea of sharing the musical journey and experience in form of a meditational concert is to make art and culture more accessible and create value through deeper understanding of art and catalyzing creativity.
