CGC Landran hosts 2-day international conference
Engineers should follow an interdisciplinary approach in problem-solving, says NBA Chairman during International Conference by CGC Landran
Chandigarh: Chandigarh Engineering College, CGC Landran has organized a joint 2-day International e-Conference on Contemporary Advances in Mechanical Engineering and Innovations in Communication Computing and Sciences by the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) respectively. More than 500 participants including researchers, students, research scholars, academic scientists, and faculties from around 12 countries attended Day 1 of this virtual conference.
Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, Chairman, NBA, graced the conference with his benign presence as the Chief Guest. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “Today, engineers should be taught to adopt interdisciplinary approaches in problem-solving. For instance, a Mechanical Engineering pursuant can take up projects with the Electronics and Communication Engineering students and come up with distinct solutions to a given problem. It’s time we think beyond the boundaries and let innovation be the key. Such conferences truly help students to broaden their horizon and I’m glad to see that Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has time and again organized such international conferences for the young minds and has once again been successful in conducting one (virtually) even during the time of the Coronavirus pandemic.”
Prof. Elangovan Rajagopalan, KCT College, Chennai and Former Scientist, ISRO was the Guest of Honour and shared his valuable thoughts. The keynote speakers for the 2-day conference includes Prof. Joan Lu, University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, Prof. Minvydas Ragulskis, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Monmouth College, Illinois, USA, Dr. Haris Rudianto Head of Advanced Materials Laboratory, Gunadarma University in Indonesia.
The conference enlightened participants on the latest trends, technological advancements and challenges in the aforementioned branches of engineering. A total number of 269 research papers including 167 for ECE and 102 for ME were received from researchers and scholars from across the country out of which 88 from ECE and 53 from ME will be published in the Journals.
