Certificate Distribution Function held at Groz- Beckert NIIFT Skill Development Facility

Ludhiana, January 14, 2026: The certificates and awards were distributed amongst the 36 successful candidates, who have undergone three months Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Training Program at ‘GROZ-BECKERT - NIIFT Skill Development Facility’ at Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Ludhiana campus (under CSR initiative of Groz-Beckert Asia Private Ltd.) 
Dr. Simrita Singh, Principal, NIIFT, Ludhiana, Harvinder Singh, General Manager (HR), Shashi Kanwal, Consultant (Corporate Social Responsibility), Groz-Beckert Asia Pvt. Ltd (GBA) and Bhupinder Singh, Functional Manager, District Industries Centre, Ludhiana jointly distributed the certificates and awards to the pass out candidates. The program was coordinated by Harpreet Singh, Coordinator, GBA NIIFT SDF. 
While conveying her congratulatory message on the occasion, Dr. Simrita Singh, Principal, NIIFT said, ‘NIIFT has taken this initiative to offer practical knowledge and nurture youth to become economically self-dependent and contribute to the progress of the region.’ Dr. Meeta Gawri, Head, GBA NIIFT SDF added that NIIFT has kept its commitment of providing trained professionals to the garment industry and also captivating forward the commitment of Punjab Government of providing employment in each family of Punjab.
While addressing the passing-out candidates, Shashi Kanwal, Consultant (CSR), GBA, conveyed that the GBA- NIIFT centre serves dual objectives- The upliftment of the livelihoods of the marginalized sections of the society through wage employment in the Garment Industry and the Garment Industry got skilled manpower, which is going to give competitive advantage, in the global market.  
While speaking on the occasion, Harvinder Singh, General Manager (HR), GBA said, ‘The training facility has provided technical skill and knowledge to the trainees thereby opening employment opportunities for them and also making it beneficial for the apparel industry’. Angad Singh Sohi, Registrar, NIIFT, Ludhiana also conveyed their best wishes to the passing-out participants of GBA NIIFT SDF and wish all of them, a very bright & prosperous future ahead. 
All the candidates were trained on the Industrial Sewing Machines by an expert faculty through audio-visuals and rigorous practical training. Regular industrial visits of candidates to garment export houses were also arranged during the training program in order to make them more familiar with the industrial environment. The training program was offered to the candidates without any fee. Moreover, raw material like fabric, threads, needles, practical notebooks, tool kit etc. required for training program was provided by Groz- Beckert Asia Pvt Ltd. A total of 03 Star of the Performer in each batch were given to the deserving students on the basis of their performance. All the candidates were excited and joyful, after getting their certificates and awards. The event ended with vote of thanks by Harpreet Singh, Coordinator, GBA NIIFT SDF.
