Ludhiana, March 10, 2026: ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana celebrated International Women’s Day on Monday, with the theme ‘Give to Gain’ with great fervour and enthusiasm. Around 250 participants, including students, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, attended the programme. The event was graced by Mrs. Neeru Katyal Gupta, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, as Chief Guest, who highlighted the role of women in nation-building. Dr. Asha Kapoor, Director of Training at Global Agro Solutions India, Dehradun, and Rajesh Das, Senior Manager at Vardhman Textiles Limited, attended as Guests of Honour, sharing their views on women’s strength, resilience, and achievements across different walks of life.
Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director of ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana, emphasized the significant role women play in shaping families, communities, and the nation. He appreciated the women staff for their dedication, hard work, and valuable contributions to the institution. On this occasion, four women entrepreneurs —Amanpreet Kaur Luthra (Raj Organo Products, Ludhiana), Anita Goel (Zaika Foods Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana), Shruti Goel (Swadham Labh, Ludhiana), and Rajinder Pal Kaur (Just Nature, Ludhiana) — were felicitated for their remarkable and inspiring achievements.
The Women Cell, including Dr. Deepika Goswami (Chairperson), Dr. Bembem, and Jasvir Kaur (members), played a pivotal role in organizing the programme. To commemorate International Women’s Day, a one-day workshop on ‘Tackling Food Loss and Waste: Strategic Interventions and Best Practices’ was also conducted, sponsored by Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana under their CSR initiative. Dr. Manju Bala (Convener), Dr. Surya Tushir, and Dr. Chandan Solanki (Co-conveners) played key roles in successfully conducting the workshop.
