Dharamsala, January 24, 2022: Congress National Secretary and ex Minister Sudhir Sharma has expressed deep grief over the death of two of the four children who went to see the snow from the slate godown.

He said that if the administration had sent the rescue teams in time, then perhaps these children could have been saved. This is not the first time that such an incident has happened, some time back also two persons have lost their lives near Dharamsala.

Sudhir further added that as the Dhauladhar Range is an easily approachable snow line to Asia. There are many treks in this area and not only the locals but tourists also visit this place for trekking. The trek to Dhauladhar is known for the Alpine trekking route, which is why it is a center of attraction. But the sad situation is that there is no proper management by the government here. To deal with such disasters, it is necessary to make proper arrangements, be it drones, helicopters, rescue teams or dog squads, all should be provided wireless links at local frequency so that people’s lives could easily be saved and the thrill of trekking be preserved.

He said that during the time of the previous government, forty lakh rupees were given to improve the check point and track for Triund track but the work is still incomplete.

Minister questioned, “Where is the National Disaster Management Authority in the state, how much money comes every year to deal with disasters, where is it being spent, the BJP government should make it public.”

It may be mentioned here that two boys out of four have lost their lives in Dhauladhar range on Sunday.
