Canara Marathon 2025 Concludes with Spectacular Participation of 12,000 Runners

Canara Bank’s annual marathon, Canara Marathon 2025, held on November 23 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, witnessed an exhilarating display of athleticism with a record turnout of 12,000 participants across three race categories—3K, 5K, and 10K. The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from individuals as young as 3 years old to inspiring seniors aged 97.

Bengaluru, November 23, 2025: Canara Bank’s annual marathon, Canara Marathon 2025, held on November 23 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, witnessed an exhilarating display of athleticism with a record turnout of 12,000 participants across three race categories—3K, 5K, and 10K. The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from individuals as young as 3 years old to inspiring seniors aged 97.
The event was inaugurated and flagged off by Satyanarayana Raju, MD & CEO of Canara Bank, and renowned cricketer of the Indian Cricket team, Venkatesh Prasad, which celebrated community spirit and fitness. The event was a testament to endurance, wellness, and unity as runners from diverse backgrounds embraced the challenge.
In the 10K race, Dharmendra Purnia clinched the top position in the men’s segment with a stellar performance, while Kavita Yadav emerged as the winner in the women’s segment, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. In the 5K race, Jayesh Patil secured first place in the men’s under-60 category, and Chanda took the top spot in the women’s category. 
The 3K race was equally vibrant, promoting fitness among casual runners and families, fostering an inclusive atmosphere. The marathon garnered enthusiastic support from spectators and volunteers.
The top male and female finishers in the 10K category each received Rs 2 lakh in cash prizes, while the winners of the 5K earned Rs 1 lakh. Runners-up received Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 for the 10K race, and Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 for the 5K race. Winners above the age of 60 in the 10K and 5K categories were also honoured with mementos.
