Khanna (Ludhiana), April 15, 2025: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Tuesday criticized the Leader of the Opposition, Pratap Singh Bajwa, for his unfounded claims that 50 bombs had arrived in Punjab, of which 18 had exploded and that his intelligence sources indicated 32 more bombs were yet to go off.
Sond described Bajwa's statement as extremely disturbing and accused him of making false claims, as Bajwa refused to disclose his sources when questioned by the police. He emphasized that the Constitution only grants journalists the right to protect their sources, not anyone else. Sond stated that the people of Punjab are now questioning Bajwa about why he isn’t making this information public if he genuinely has it.
If Bajwa lacks evidence, Sond suggested that he should either apologize or acknowledge his tendency to make baseless statements. He further accused Bajwa of misleading the three crores people of Punjab and asserted that if another blast was to occur in the future, Bajwa would be held responsible for his prior knowledge of these threats.
Sond urged the people of Punjab to be wary of political parties such as Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP if they genuinely care about the welfare of the state.
