The Department of Pathology, DMC&H, under the auspices of the Punjab Medical Council, organised a CME and workshop on “Modern Immunodiagnostics: Flow Cytometry and Immunoassays – From Principles to Practice” today at the college campus.

Ludhiana, October 10, 2026: The Department of Pathology, DMC&H, under the auspices of the Punjab Medical Council, organised a CME and workshop on “Modern Immunodiagnostics: Flow Cytometry and Immunoassays – From Principles to Practice” today at the college campus.
The CME was organised under the leadership of Dr Bhavna Garg, Professor and Head, Department of Pathology, DMC&H, and Organising Chairperson. The programme was coordinated by Dr Pavneet Kaur, Co-Organising Chairperson, with Dr Vikram Narang and Dr Sumit Grover, Organising Secretaries, and Dr Aminder Singh, Co-Organising Secretary, along with the faculty and staff of the Department of Pathology.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, in the presence of Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics; Dr Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent; Dr Bhavna Garg, Professor and Head, Department of Pathology, and other faculty members of the department.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, emphasised that “Modern diagnostic technologies are playing an increasingly important role in the early and accurate diagnosis of diseases. Such academic programmes help medical professionals update their knowledge and understand the practical use of these advances in patient care. He appreciated the Department of Pathology for organising the academic initiative and underscored the importance of keeping medical professionals updated with emerging diagnostic advancements to ensure better patient care.
Dr GS Wander, Principal, DMC&H chaired a session on interesting cases and gave his valuable inputs in diagnosing theses cases and their treatment modalities.
The CME witnessed the participation of over 130 delegates from medical colleges and institutions across Punjab, Haryana and other regions, reflecting the growing interest in advanced immunodiagnostic technologies. The scientific programme focused on the principles, applications and practical aspects of flow cytometry and immunoassays, providing participants with valuable insights into their use in disease diagnosis and clinical decision-making.
The workshop also offered a platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing and professional collaboration among pathologists and medical professionals, with an emphasis on translating advances in immunodiagnostics into everyday clinical practice.
DMC&H has the facilities for both flow cytometry and immunoassays, which play an important role in the diagnosis and management of various diseases.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Sumit Grover, Organising Secretary, who acknowledged the valuable contributions of the chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, delegates and organising team in making the CME and workshop a success.
