Ludhiana, Sep 21, 2025: In a significant step toward realizing Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s vision of a healthy and drug-free Punjab, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond inaugurated an open-air gym at Kisan Enclave Park No. 1 on Sunday. This initiative is part of the state government’s broader campaign to encourage physical fitness and steer youth away from drug abuse.

During his address, Minister Sond emphasized the transformative potential of open-air gyms in promoting community health. He added that these facilities provide accessible spaces for people of all ages to exercise and prioritize their well-being.

Sond stated that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the government is fully committed to empowering Punjab’s youth, fostering their physical and mental health, and ensuring a bright, prosperous future for them. He highlighted that open-air gyms are designed to draw residents, particularly youth and children, to public parks, encouraging regular physical activity.

“In an era where many young people are engaged in mobile phones and social media, neglecting exercise or morning walks, these gyms will inspire a culture of health consciousness,” Sond noted. He further announced plans to establish additional open-air gyms across Punjab to expand access to fitness facilities.

Sond assured that there will be no shortage of resources for this cause. The open-air gym has been equipped with modern exercise equipment suitable for all fitness levels, offering a free and inclusive space for residents to stay active.
