Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian distributes flood relief worth Rs 25.05 lakh to 84 farmers
Fulfilling the promise to ensure flood compensation before Diwali, Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Wednesday distributed relief totalling Rs 25.05 lakh to 84 beneficiaries from flood-ravaged villages under Samrala sub-division. The entire amount has been transferred directly to the farmers' accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for complete transparency.

Dhulewal (Ludhiana), Oct 15, 2025: Fulfilling the promise to ensure flood compensation before Diwali, Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Wednesday distributed relief totalling Rs 25.05 lakh to 84 beneficiaries from flood-ravaged villages under Samrala sub-division. The entire amount has been transferred directly to the farmers' accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for complete transparency.
The symbolic amount certificate distribution was event held in Dhulewal village, highlights the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government's unwavering commitment to swift, transparent support for farmers devastated by floods in September 2025.
Minister Mundian, spearheading relief efforts since September, personally handed over certificates to farmers whose crops were destroyed by the deluge in the Sutlej and its tributaries.
The beneficiaries include 64 farmers from Dhullewal village receiving Rs 1921500, 13 farmers from Sansowal Khurd getting Rs 304250, three farmers from Dopana allotted Rs 44,250, four from Mujjfarewal with Rs 2,35,875 bringing the grand total to 84 beneficiaries and Rs 2505875.
Cabinet Minister Mundian accompanied by MLA Jagtar Singh Dyalpura stated that the state government has promised flood relief before Diwali, and today we are fulfilling that commitment. He added that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's visionary leadership, the government is working round the clock for people which no previous government has ever done. He mentioned the government has ensured every affected family receives Rs 20,000 per acre for crop losses, up to Rs 1, 20,000 for house damages, and livestock support—all within just 45 days. He also informed that the special girdawari teams reached every last household and completed this gigantic task through their tireless hard work. He further announced that every damaged road will be re-carpeted soon.
Mundian also stated that the Punjab government will soon launch an insurance scheme for every Punjabi ensuring cashless treatment worth Rs 10 lakh per family.
ADC Shikha Bhagat, SDM Rajneesh Arora and others were also present during the event.
