British High Commission and Panjab University Unveil Photo Exhibition to Raise Awareness on Visa Fraud
‘Visa Fraud Ton Bacho’ campaign highlights risks of irregular migration and promotes safe, legal routes to the UK
Chandigarh, November 17, 2025: The British High Commission, in association with the Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, organised a photo exhibition under the ‘Visa Fraud Ton Bacho’ awareness campaign at the Students’ Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, on Monday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Aman Grewal, Deputy Head of Mission, British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh; Phil Brown, First Secretary, Justice and Home Affairs, British High Commission, New Delhi; Professor Madhurima, Dean, Faculty of Arts; and Professor Monica Munjial Singh, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work, Panjab University.
The photo exhibition showcases real-life risks associated with irregular migration and offers guidance to help students and youth avoid falling victim to visa fraud.
A dedicated WhatsApp chatbot has also been introduced to provide official UK guidance in both English and Punjabi on identifying common visa scam tactics and understanding safe and legal routes to travel to the UK. The chatbot is available at +91 70652 51380.
A bhangra performance and a street play were also performed to spread awareness about visa fraud.
