BMU Research Scholars Secure Top Honors at National Conference; Conducted In-Depth Study on Environmental Challenges
Rohtak, May 6, 2026: Research Scholars from the Department of Zoology at Baba Mastnath University (BMU), Asthal Bohar, have secured top honors at a national-level conference. At this national conference—themed "The Interface between Science and Technology: A Bridge towards Global Health and Environmental Sustainability"—BMU research scholar Dimple secured the first place for the 'Best Oral Presentation.' Meanwhile, Poonam secured the second place, and Ruby secured the third place. Research scholars from across the country participated in this conference, which was organized by the Sai School of Biosciences at Sri Sai University, Palampur (Himachal Pradesh).
In the research presented at the conference, the BMU scholars presented an in-depth study on critical contemporary environmental challenges—specifically the rising levels of microplastics and heavy metal pollution in the Haryana region. They conducted a scientific analysis of the adverse effects these pollutants have on both the ecosystem and human health. This research work was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Arup Giri, Director of the IQAC and Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology.
Dr. Giri, an expert in ecotoxicology and environmental health, said that in today's times, the scientific study of local environmental problems constitutes a significant step toward finding global solutions. He added that the seriousness and scientific rigor with which the research scholars presented their work are highly commendable.
During an awards ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.M. Yadav and Registrar Prof. Vinod Kumar—along with other senior officials and faculty members—honored the research scholars.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.M. Yadav remarked that this achievement serves as a testament to the fact that research and innovation are being actively encouraged within the university. He noted that this research on environmental issues would prove to be immensely useful for both policy formulation and public awareness initiatives in the future.
Registrar Prof. Vinod Kumar stated that BMU is committed to fostering quality education and research. He attributed this success to the institute's robust research-oriented environment and its dedicated faculty members.
Also present on the occasion was the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Naveen Kapil, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Prof. Manoj Kumar, IQAC Director Dr. Arup Giri, and research scholars Poonam and Ruby were also present. Expressing their delight at this achievement of the research scholars, those present extended their best wishes for their bright future.
