BMS Delegation Meets Sanjay Tandon, Thanks Him for Support in Reinstatement of Terminated Workers

Chandigarh, September 3, 2026: A delegation of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) today met senior BJP leader and National Council Member Sanjay Tandon to thank him for his support and constructive intervention in the reinstatement of around 45 outsourced CTU employees who were working as conductors & drivers. Notably, these  employees had been terminated from service. Members of the BMS delegation , were joined by office bearers of  Chandigarh Government Transport Workers Union(Sher Party). The representatives  expressed their gratitude to Tandon for his efforts in helping resolve the long-pending issue and enabling the affected workers to return to their duties. 
Speaking on the occasion, Tandon said employment is not merely a means of livelihood but is closely linked to the dignity, security and well-being of a worker and his family.
“Whenever workers face injustice or uncertainty regarding their livelihood, every possible effort should be made to find a fair and constructive solution. I am pleased that this issue has moved towards a positive resolution and that around 45 employees will be able to return to their duties. Their families have also gone through a period of uncertainty, and restoring their employment will bring them much-needed relief,” Tandon said.
During the meeting with Tandon, BMS representatives discussed the process of reinstatement and arrangements to ensure a smooth return to work for the affected employees.
The BMS delegation included Niranjan Kumar, Organising Secretary, Punjab and Chandigarh; Badri Kaushik, Department Head; Balwinder Singh, President; Jaswant Singh Jassa, General Secretary; and Shivmurat Yadav, Additional General Secretary.  The Chandigarh Government Transport Workers Union(Sher Party)  was represented by Azad Singh, President;  Satinder Singh, Vice President; Balbir Singh, General Secretary & Govind Dhaiya, Cashier.
In the meeting, Tandon emphasised that dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders are essential for resolving labour-related issues.
“The objective should always be to protect the dignity of workers while ensuring that issues are resolved through dialogue, due process and a constructive approach. I appreciate the role played by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and other representatives in taking up the concerns of the employees,” he said.
The BMS reiterated its commitment to protecting the employment and rights of workers and said it would continue to raise genuine concerns through democratic and constitutional means.
