BJP Seeks Health Minister's Resignation Over Alleged Pharmacy Officer Exam Paper Leak

Ludhiana, July 28, 2026: Expressing serious concern over the alleged paper leak in the Punjab Pharmacy Officer Recruitment Examination, Bharatiya Janata Party Ludhiana District President Sunil Moudgil said the latest controversy has once again exposed the Aam Aadmi Party government's inability to conduct fair and secure recruitment examinations in the state.
Moudgil said that around 7,000 aspirants appeared for the Pharmacy Officer recruitment examination conducted on July 19 for 454 vacancies. He alleged that the examination process was compromised after the question paper was scanned from inside the examination centre, sent outside for solving, and the answers were subsequently communicated to candidates through Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Sunil Moudgil said the incident was not an isolated lapse but reflected a larger pattern of administrative failure. Even the Registrar had admitted that authorities had prior intelligence regarding the possible use of electronic gadgets during the examination. Despite these inputs, the government allegedly failed to deploy adequate jammers or implement effective safeguards, raising serious concerns over both preparedness and accountability.
Moudgil further alleged that the Pharmacy Officer examination controversy is the sixth major recruitment or examination scandal to surface under the AAP government. He referred to the Naib Tehsildar recruitment examination, the PSEB Class XII English paper leak, the PSTET controversy, irregularities in Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board recruitments, and other recruitment-related disputes as evidence of a recurring pattern.
Questioning the government's repeated claims of transparency and "zero tolerance" towards corruption, Moudgil said AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, had previously demanded resignations from governments facing examination-related controversies. He asserted that the same principles of moral responsibility should now be applied in Punjab.
Holding the state government accountable for repeated failures in protecting the integrity of recruitment examinations, the BJP demanded the immediate resignation of Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. Sunil Moudgil said Punjab's youth deserve a recruitment process based solely on merit, fairness and transparency, free from recurring allegations of paper leaks and cheating.
