BJP Holds Statewide Mandal-Level Protests Against Punjab Government Over Drug Abuse: Manoranjan Kalia
Former Minister Punjab and Member National Executive Bharatiya Janata Party Manoranjan Kalia stated that protests and demonstrations were held today against the Punjab Government at the mandal level across the entire state regarding the issue of drug abuse. As part of this ongoing movement, a protest demonstration was also organized against the Punjab Government in Mandal No. 7 of the Jalandhar Central constituency.

Ludhiana, September 9, 2026: Former Minister Punjab and Member National Executive Bharatiya Janata Party Manoranjan Kalia stated that protests and demonstrations were held today against the Punjab Government at the mandal level across the entire state regarding the issue of drug abuse. As part of this ongoing movement, a protest demonstration was also organized against the Punjab Government in Mandal No. 7 of the Jalandhar Central constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Kalia highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party had promised a drug-free Punjab during the 2022 Assembly elections, but its government has completely failed to deliver on this promise. Prior to this, the Congress government in 2017 had made similar promises to eradicate drugs from the state, but they too failed miserably. Kalia asserted that only a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government can make Punjab truly drug-free.
The protest saw the presence of Mandal President Pradeep Kapania, Anil Sachar, Councillor Ashwani Dhand, Rohit Dhand, Jasbir Singh Judge, Manjinder Singh Dimple, Rahul Juneja, Chirag, Davinder Kalia, Vijay Kalia, Nitin Mohindru, Rohit Mehta, Shalu, Heera, R.K. Talwar, David, James, Jawahar Sood, Hardev Singh, Shamsher Singh Shera, among others.
