Bicycle Rally on World Bicycle Day by Nehru Yuva Kendra 

Chandigarh, June 3, 2022: To celebrate World Bicycle Day, as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a bicycle rally was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh at State level on Saturday from Sukhna Lake to High Court. 

The objective of the programme was to draw attention to the benefits of using the bicycle a simple, affordable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation, said Sanjana Vatts, District Youth Officer.

Mayor Sarbjit Kaur gave the message of adopting cycle continuously in life instead of celebrating on a particular day. She said that even in the municipal corporation all of us will come on cycle once or twice a week. 

In the rally a distance of 8-kms was covered by more than 500 participants from Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh, NSS, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Sports Department and others participated with full zest and zeal. Special Guests included Tejdeep Singh Saini PCS , Director Sports, Mahesh Inder Singh, Area councillor, Sapna, Assistant Director, Regional outreach Bureau, Surinder Saini, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Punjab, Paramjit singh, Deputy Director SAS Nagar mohali, added Sanjana Vatts, District Youth Officer.
