Chandigarh/Jalandhar, August 16, 2018: BJP senior leader Manoranjan Kalia has said that former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an institution in himself who did politics whether in opposition or in power for the country. He never did politics for power. Reacting over the death of Vajpayee, Kalia, in a statement, said “Vajpayee Ji had a multifaceted personality: Statesman, a noble Politician, matchless orator, a poet and above all a person who had a heart full of human kindness.” Adding, he said, if first Prime Minister Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru is being remembered as a “Builder of Modern India”, Vajpayee will be remembered as builder of “Powerful India” because it was during his tenure as a Prime Minister India became Nuclear Weapon State, won Kargil War. Almost every country across the World extended a hand of friendship towards Indian economy as the country became stronger and network of the roads called golden quadrilateral across the country was initiated. At the end, he, said, “Atal Ji Ko Mera Salaam”. Meanwhile, a press release from Chandigarh reads: "Punjab BJP leaders today mourned the demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee describing his death an irreparable loss for the nation. “Atal ji was a statesman, an ideal politician, great orator and a parliamentarian who had respect for our institutions and traditions. He was the one who gave India a new identity and status by conducting nuclear tests in Pokhran,” said BJP national vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna, union minister Vijay Sampla, former minister Manoranjan Kalia, former national secretary Harjit Singh Grewal, former state BJP president Ashwini Sharma and former state party secretary Vineet Joshi in a condolence message released here today. Avinash Rai Khanna, who personally got a chance to work with the BJP patriacrch as a parliamentarian said, “Atal ji was a poet, a writer, a visionary and an open-minded leader who was even revered by his political opponents.”
