Assault on Shiv Sena leader Mahant Kashmir Giri, remained unhurt  

Khanna: Two motorcycle-borne unidentified armed persons allegedly assaulted on the local Shiv Sena leader Mahant Kashmir Giri in early hours of this morning. However, the Sena leader remained unhurt.

Mahant Kashmir Giri is State Spokesperson of the Shiv Sena.

The incident occurred around 5-30 am when Mahant Kashmir Giri was performing puja in the temple located near the pond. 
The motorcycle borne assailants had covered their faces. They opened three shots from pistol. However, Mahant Kashmir Giri had a narrow escape and remained unhurt. On hearing the noise of firing, he immediately run inside a room and managed to hide himself behind a door of the temple. The door of the room was got slightly damaged in the firing.
The assailants managed to escape after committing the crime.
The temple is located along a city road.
The whole incident was recorded in CCTV camera installed within premises of the temple. The police have taken into possession the CCTV footage.  
The police was informed immediately after the incident.
Khanna DSP Rajanparminder Singh confirmed that that the entire incident has been captured in CCTV and they were checking the footage.
Meanwhile, Avtar Mourya, District President of Shiv Sena, has demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
