Arora Will Win With a Big Majority Due to Development and Public Trust: Minister Goyal

Ludhiana, June 4, 2025: Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal has predicted a resounding victory for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora in the upcoming Ludhiana (West) Assembly bypoll. He attributed this anticipated success to Arora’s impressive record of development work over the past three years and the overwhelming support from the public.

Speaking at a poll meeting at Lions Club in Tagore Nagar on Tuesday late evening, Goyal highlighted the unusual circumstances of the by-election, which was necessitated by the untimely demise of sitting MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. He said the party has reposed full faith in Arora’s leadership, calling him one of the most honest, hardworking, and dedicated leaders in the party.

Lauding Arora's contributions, Goyal remarked that in the last 50 years, no leader has done such volume of development work that Arora has. “It’s rare for a Rajya Sabha MP to be so active on the ground. Arora has created history through his relentless efforts in Ludhiana,” he said, adding, “He delivered every time the party or the public asked for something.”

Goyal further stated that, as a responsible Punjab Minister, he sees Arora as a crucial leader within AAP who is capable of handling any responsibility. He pointed out that people are visibly appreciative of Arora’s performance.

He also underscored the people’s growing confidence in the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the national leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. He said Kejriwal has redefined politics in India by steering it toward public service. “AAP’s governance is driven by honesty and a genuine spirit of service,” he said, noting landmark pro-people decisions made by the state government for farmers, workers, the industrial sector besides other sectors.

During the event, Sanjeev Arora presented a report card of his three-year tenure as MP and assured that if elected, he would work “four times harder” to ensure continued development. He highlighted major projects including the Halwara Airport, elevated roads, four bridges on the Sidhwan Canal, and the OTS scheme for industry, which were pursued through his efforts. He appealed to the public to vote for continued progress and reiterated his vision of transforming Ludhiana into a model city for the entire nation.

Prominent AAP leaders Bittu Bhullar, Gurpreet Babbal, Manu Jairath, Munish Shah and Mala Dhanda were also present on the occasion.
