Animation and Multi-Media Students of LPU won overall first prize for ‘GO48 International Design Challenge’

Jalandhar: Blending art and technology in perfection, a team of 7 creative students of the Multi-Media Discipline of LPU have recently won ‘Overall First Prize’ for ‘GO48 International Design Challenge’. Currently in its 9th year, the format of this global challenge has competitions in Graphics, Animation, Film Making, Gaming and more. These competitions are to be finished in 48 minutes or 48 hours, that is how it is titled also.

Held annually, GO48 Challenge is an international competition that celebrates the creative skills of the global community of students, artists, designers, faculty, professionals and industry experts. The contest had 5 competitions, each comprising 2 challenges. In this version, LPU students have won 6 medals in separate challenges, and will now be made known to the world to look at their creative talent. Organizers of the competitions will also promote their creative works through online global media publications.

Ten challenges included LoGO48 and MotionX for ‘Visual Communication Design’ under ‘Go48 Graphix’ competition. Here, LPU student Priyanka won a gold medal for LoGO48. In MotionX challenge Arshpreet Kaur won Silver & Jenish K Panwala Bronze Medal. Under GAMEIT competition for CharACTer and Game IT challenges of Game Design, Jaspreet Kaur and team of Saptadeep Chaudhary & Rohit won Silver Medals. Similarly, under GO48 Live competition, for the ‘Live Photography’ challenge of Film-making, LPU’s Khushi Sahu also won a silver medal. Thus, creative students of LPU amassed six medals including one Gold, 4 Silver and one Bronze, which is a maximum win made by an institution in this global competition.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal congratulated the winners and their mentors, and further invoked them to keep their creativity alive for bright future prospects. Mr Mittal also shared that the department of animation and multimedia at LPU is one of the finest in the country. Its students are earning up to Rs 50 Lakh a year on various freelancing jobs, and are also working with top national and international design studios. He also asked students to adopt needed skills of the time to form creative-networks for future endeavours.
