Chandigarh, January 23, 2025: The Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh is organizing a one-day public awareness program on “AMR: The Silent Pandemic” on January 24.
The awareness programme is being organise to highlight the critical issue of antibiotic resistance in healthcare and explore strategies to combat this growing global health threat. The misuse and overuse of antibiotics are accelerating resistance, making infections more difficult to treat, escalating healthcare costs, and posing serious risks to public health worldwide. Addressing this crisis requires collective action.
The event will include expert talks, interactive sessions, and discussions on innovative solutions to tackle AMR effectively. Additionally, various competitions will be held to further emphasize the importance of AMR awareness.
