Amity University signs MoU with Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia
Noida, November 19, 2019: A high level delegation from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia visited Amity University Noida campus and signed a MoU for establishing international links and to explore potential areas of collaboration. The delegation was led by Prof (Dr) Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-Chancellor and accompanied by Professor Dr Hilmi Mukhtar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic; Mr Zaimizi Hamdani, Director of Strategic Alliance Office; Assoc Prof Dr Vijanth Sagayan Asirvadam, Director of Institute of Autonomous Systems and Dr Dileep Kumar, Head of UTP India Alumni Network. The MoU was signed by Dr. W Selvamurthy President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation and Prof (Dr) Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in the presence of scientists and senior officials of both the Universities. Addressing the gathering, Dr. W Selvamurthy President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation shared that the aim of the MoU is to develop academic, research and educational co-operation between the two academic institutions. He elaborated that as part of the MoU, there will be exchange of faculty and administrative staff, exchange of scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, joint research & co-supervision of PhD scholars, promotion collaboration and other academic co-operation in the field of mutual interest etc. Suggesting areas for collaboration, Prof (Dr) Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS emphasized upon mapping programmes offered by both the universities in the domain of science and technology and subsequently, exchanging relevant academic information and materials. He further talked about developing new programme structure which could run in both the Universities as part of student exchange programme. Dr. Mutalib invited Amity for joint set up of center of excellence at UTP, Malaysia which will eventually strengthen the research capacity. He said that there is a wider scope of research through collaborative efforts. During the discussion, Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Bansal, Jt Head, Amity School of Engineering and Technology suggested for joint partnership for conferences to be organized at UTP and Amity, in future.
