Amity Student bags Bronze Medal in the International Economics Olympiad held at Moscow

Awarded 100% Scholarship to pursue Higher Studies in Russia

Class XIIth student from Amity International School Noida, Anjanee Khosla has bagged a bronze medal in the International Economics Olympiad held at St Petersburg, Moscow, Russia. She has been awarded 100% scholarship to pursue her higher studies in Russia.

Out of 15000 students from India, top 5 best brains in Economics were shortlisted on the basis of the economic conceptual, analytical and case studies application from the syllabus of grade 11 and 12. Anjanee Khosla was selected as one of the top 5 students to represent India in the final round in the Olympiad at Russia and won after competing against 166 contestants from 24 countries.

The International Economics Olympiad is an annual competition in Economics, for the Senior School students, conducted by Higher Research University for Economics, Moscow, Russia; intended to stimulate the activities of students by way of creative problem solving and analytical case studies in economics, business and finance.

Congratulating the brilliant student, Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson Amity International Schools shared her happiness over the spectacular achievement of the student. She said that it is heartwarming to see the young minds winning laurels at International platforms and proving that there is no dearth of talent in the country. She informed that Anjanee has also received an International Certification to attend the eight days seminar conducted by the MIT professor, Dr. Shailashree Haridas, (Cambridge), Phd. (Eco), Associate Director at MIT World Peace University. “It is great that she will learn from the doyen of the field which will further help in charting the course of her career.” said Dr. Chauhan.

Singh apprised that in the first round, which was on Business presentation on Hyperloop technology in Russia, wherein Anjanee got special mention from judges for using SWOT ( Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. The second round was based on Economics Exam on MCQs, small and big caselets, where she scored 86%. The third round was on finance and Online Simulation and on the basis of the final three rounds held in Russia, the Olympiad awarded Anjanee with a Bronze medal.

Anjanee was thrilled to meet the Nobel Laureate Eric Maskin and attend the sessions held with international speakers including Alexin Bellanin, Eduard Ponarin, Mc Kinsey and Tatyana Skopintseva.
