Chandigarh, February 2, 2026: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, UIET, Panjab University, today organised an alumni interaction session, providing students with valuable industry insights and career guidance.
Two distinguished alumni from the 2022 pass-out batch, Akshit Gaur, Co-Founder of Circle Cycling, and Ashutosh Sharma, Consultant at KPMG, visited the department and interacted closely with a small group of Mechanical Engineering students.
The session was highly interactive and focused on future opportunities in Mechanical Engineering across industry, consultancy, and entrepreneurship. Ashutosh Sharma emphasised the critical importance of core mechanical engineering subjects, explaining how a strong conceptual foundation plays a decisive role during project implementation and real-world problem solving in professional environments.
Akshit Gaur shared his entrepreneurial journey and highlighted the importance of starting early when exploring business and startup opportunities. He encouraged students to develop innovative thinking, take calculated risks, and leverage their technical knowledge to create impactful ventures.
The interaction proved to be insightful and motivating for the students, offering practical perspectives beyond the classroom.
