Alok Shrivastava’s Ghazals, Poetry Enchant Audience at SUPVA

Rohtak, August 12, 2026: The auditorium of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) reverberated with applause as renowned poet and lyricist Alok Shrivastava enthralled the audience with his literary-musical presentation ‘Aloknama’ on the opening day of the three-day design festival ‘‘Sutram’’ on Wednesday.
Former minister Om Prakash Dhankar attended the programme as chief guest. SUPVA Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya and Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha honoured the chief guest and other dignitaries with mementoes.
Shrivastava presented popular ghazals, songs and poems exploring love, human emotions, spirituality and social concerns. His renditions, including “Muddaton khud ki kuch khabar na lage”, “Bas tujhe us nazar se dekha hai” and “Jab bhi taqdeer ka halka sa ishara hoga”, received enthusiastic applause.
His powerful combination of poetry and singing made the evening memorable for literature, art and culture enthusiasts.
Active in the literary field for over 35 years, Shrivastava has authored the acclaimed poetry collections Ameen and Aasman. Known for bridging Hindi and Urdu literature, he has travelled to more than 30 countries for literary engagements and received several honours, including the Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi, Urdu Akademi and International Publishers Excellence awards. His works have also gained popularity in the voices of artists including Atif Aslam and Jagjit Singh.
